WELCOME TO DUAL FUEL CO

About us

A leader in the development of hydrogen dual fuel technology, Dual Fuel Co.'s primary business is the retrofitting of heavy goods road transport and marine vessels to run on a blend of hydrogen and diesel or NG.

Our Story

Dual Fuel Co. (DFC) is committed to developing hydrogen mobility for heavy duty transport, such as HGVs and marine vessels, in order to decarbonise the global transport sector.

Hydrogen offers a highly practical solution for the decarbonisation of heavy road transport and barges. Batteries are currently too bulky for their required range and therefore incapable of carrying heavy loads long distances without a recharging network.

Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are prohibitively expensive and require extensive hydrogen refuelling networks which do not currently exist. Hydrogen internal combustion engine heavy trucks are not yet commercial from a cost or infrastructure perspective.

Dual Fuel Co. provides a transitionary step towards decarbonisation of heavy goods fleets, reducing fleet emissions and facilitating scalable growth of the hydrogen network. Our low-cost solution enables operators to “go green” using their existing fleet, rather than undertaking a full replacement with high-cost hydrogen or battery powered vehicles.

To do this, Dual Fuel Co. has developed proprietary hydrogen injection technology that can be retrofitted onto existing vehicle engines to reduce their carbon emissions. This technology, which is wholly owned by Dual Fuel Co., has been developed in conjunction with G-Volution, a company experienced in innovative LPG dual fuel conversion of transport with a track record in road and rail.

With a focus on providing a transitionary step for the build out of the hydrogen mobility sector, Dual Fuel Co.'s mission is to pioneer hydrogen dual fuel projects that:

  • attract collaborations and form partnerships with prominent international corporations

  • facilitate the initial build-out of hydrogen infrastructure to pave the way for 100% hydrogen-fuelled transport.

  • play a key role in advancing the global shift towards Net Zero

BENEFITS OF DUAL FUEL TECHNOLOGY

1

High Energy Density

Hydrogen has the highest energy density of all fuels with just 1kg of hydrogen is equivalent to 3.6L of diesel

3

Affordable Technology

Far more affordable compared with Fuel Cell and Battery Electric vehicles, no need to purchase new vehicles

5

Improved Engine Efficiency

Fuel burn efficiency increases due to addition of secondary fuel

7

Additional Range

More than 250km added to the vehicle range due to additional fuel tanks

2

Emission Free

Up to 31% emission reduction can be achieved

4

Speed of Retrofit

Installation of retrofit on existing vehicles can take less than 14 days

6

Fuel Flexibility

Ability to run on diesel alone, reducing reliance on H2 product and refuelling infrastructure

Truck

DUAL FUEL IN TRUCKS

  • 5 x 210 litre Type III H2 storage tanks, allowing for an extended range of 300 km in Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs). The vehicle can run on diesel if it runs out of hydrogen, therefore it is not reliant on an extensive hydrogen refueling network

  • Optimised Engine Control Unit (ECU) installation for simultaneous H2 and diesel feedstock, reducing carbon emissions by up to 30%. The original vehicle ECU continues to operate as it was intended by the OEM and on board diagnostic systems are not affected or compromised.

  • Patented technology; hydrogen and diesel are delivered in constantly varying ratios to optimise economic and emissions performance.

DUAL FUEL IN WATER VESSELS

  • Versatile hydrogen storage system can be configured to different vessel types and sizes

  • Optimised Engine Control Unit (ECU) installation for simultaneous H2 and diesel fuels, reducing carbon emissions by up to 30%.

  • Optimal vessels have one or more 300-500HP engines for effective retrofit, but each retrofit can be analysed on a case by case basis
